Dental Technology

Dr. Navid and his staff utilize the latest dental technology and procedures to ensure your smile looks its best.

Digital Panoramic X-Ray

Panoramic radiography, also called panoramic x-ray, is a dental x-ray examination that captures the entire mouth in a single image, including the teeth, upper and lower jaws, surrounding structures and tissues.

An x-ray (radiograph) is a noninvasive medical test that helps Dr Navid diagnose and treat dental conditions. Unlike a traditional x-ray where the film/x-ray detector is placed inside of the mouth, the film for a panoramic x-ray is contained inside of the machine. Therefore, it makes the imaging very convenient for individuals with strong gag reflex. Furthermore, the radiation dose a patient receives during this type of imaging is a fraction of Full Mouth Digital Radiography. At Redmond Family Smiles we use the state of the art Pax-I machine with a cutting edge technology that captures smallest details with lowest radiation dose.

Digital X-rays

At Redmond Family Smiles, we use digital radiography, the latest in dental X-ray technology. Digital radiography allows us to safely detect and diagnose oral health problems. Unlike traditional film X-rays, digital X-rays require a miniscule amount of radiation, making them a safer option for everyone. We can also view digital X-rays instantly, which gives Dr. Navid and the rest of our dental team the opportunity to create your treatment plan faster than ever! For more information on digital radiography or any of the dental technology we use to improve your oral health, we invite you to give our office a call soon.

Soft Tissue Lasers

One of the most advanced pieces of technology we use at Redmond Family Smiles is the soft tissue laser. We use the soft tissue laser to provide you with more comfortable treatment and encourage the healing process after your visit. Because the laser provides such comfortable treatment, many patients who receive laser soft tissue therapy do not need any local anesthetic!

Our soft tissue laser can be used to help reshape the gum line as well as reduce the bacteria associated with gum disease, so you have a healthier, happier mouth. If you are interested in learning more about the benefits of laser dentistry, please contact our office today.
